Bristow helicopters fly in
Thursday, July 16 2009

Bristow Caribbean limited was host to two of the company’s helicopters - S-92 helicopter and a S-76 helicopter - which were at the company’s hangar recently.

The aircraft were en route to Lider in Brazil and made a stop over in Trinidad.

The S-92, one of the larger aircraft operated by Bristow globally, has the capacity to seat up to 19 passengers and is fully air-conditioned with airline type seating and a walk through cabin.

Features also include a maximum all gross weight of 25,500lbs, maximum cruise speed of 151kt and a range of 475 nautical miles. The S-92 represents the newest technology available in the industry and is both a civil and military type aircraft.

Bristow Caribbean’s general manager, Warren Jameson said Brazil is the new frontier of the oil and gas industry and the company’s partnership with Lider shows its continued commitment to the industry. “Over the coming months we will have many more aircraft transiting TT which is only fitting as they are now part of the Latin America Business Unit (LABU) along with Trinidad,” he said.

The Bristow Group acquired 42.5 percent of Lider Aviacao Holding SA in May of this year. Lider is Brazil’s largest provider of helicopter and executive aviation services.

Bristow is officially the largest helicopter company in the world and the leading provider of helicopter services in the Caribbean Region.

Bristow Caribbean Limited has been operating in TT for the past forty-nine years.
