THE Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) has appointed two new Deputy General Managers. They have been on Board since November 27, 2014 and are no strangers to Piarco since they were already employed with the Authority in different positions.

Oswald Bruce is performing as Deputy General Manager Operations at Piarco International, and the other is Mrs Adrienne Ayers-Allen, who is Deputy General Manager – Estate Planning and Business Development.

According to a statement by the AATT, Bruce will work closely with the general manager to create and implement the vision for the overall operations of the Piarco International Airport.

“He is accountable for supporting the achievement of the mission and overall goals of the organisation by ensuring that all aspects of the airport operations are efficiently and effectively managed and delivered,” added the statement.”

Ayers-Allen, as her job title reflects will be responsible for developing the Airport Estate Business into an economically viable commercial business centre. Her goals is to ensure that the objectives of the Business Development Division are attained.

Bruce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and has more than two decades of airport experience and possesses a wealth of knowledge regarding aviation and airport operations. He has served as a Duty Manager at the AATT and Manager of Airport Operations.

He is credited as being instrumental in setting up the Aviation Training Centre (ATCEN), currently the only Airports Council International training hub in the Caribbean. He has also served as ATCEN’s manager for a period.

The AATT statement represents Ayers-Allen as the holder of a degree in Architecture and comes to the Authority with working experience at one of the busiest airports in the world — John F Kennedy International in New York. At JFK she was the Structural Facilities Manager and as such, was responsible for managing the 1.5 million square feet of aerodrome building space. Before assuming her new position she was responsible for management of the Engineering Department of the Authority.

With the planned development of the new Piarco Aero Park Complex, Ayers-Allen is expected to play a key role in ensuring that the new business centre becomes fully operational in the shortest possible time.

Some of the preparatory work has begun in preparing the site and some areas have paved roads and proper lighting. The AATT is aggressively pursuing clientels to take residence in the Business Park.
