Curtain Falls For Tiara Air
Mon, Mar 24th, 2014

It seems like a Venezuelan curse for all airlines from the former Netherlands Antilles. Now it’s Tiara Air’s turn to become a victim of the currency payment policy of the South American country.

The Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) of the Aruban Company has been temporarily revoked and the airline has ceased its operations since last week Thursday. The main reason for this is because currently the airline does not have a ground operation manager.

The Aruban Department of Civil Aviation made this decision because the airline can no longer guarantee security. Several key members of the staff left the company due to its financial crisis. Many opted to apply for work at Insel Air Aruba.

The airline began operations in 2006 and operated scheduled flights to Bonaire, Colombia, Curacao, the United States and Venezuela. The airlines fleet consisted of the Shorts 360 and Boeing 737 aircraft for passenger operations, with a Learjet 35 for ambulance and private operations.
