Silver Airways buys Caribbean’s largest regional airline
The Associated Press

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP)

Florida-based Silver Airways has bought the Caribbean’s largest regional airline.

Officials say Puerto Rico-based Seaborne Airlines will operate as a stand-alone subsidiary until the two airlines merge next year. It will continue to serve 12 airports, including those in Puerto Rico and other nearby islands such as Dominica, Anguilla, St. Maarten and Tortola.

Ft. Lauderdale-based Silver Airways said Monday that it will operate 31 aircraft as a result of the merger.

Seaborne now operates eight 34-seat Saab 340s and two 15-seat de Havilland Twin Otter seaplanes.

Explease me-cuse, Occifer - exactly WHEN did Seaborne become the Caribbean’s largest regional airline??? And with a maximum of 8 Saab 340s?

I know we are in an era of fake news, but we seriously don't need this boolshyte in the Caribbean from an agency that is supposed to be respectable and professional like the Associated Press.

There are quite a few regional airlines in the Caribbean. Seaborne may the largest AMERICAN regional, but among the other established regional airlines it is among the SMALLEST. Even absorbed into Silver it will STILL not be the largest.

This is American arrogance as news - this statement is a straight-out lie.
