Prime Minister Perry G. Christie; Agriculture, Marine Resources and Local Government Minister and MP for MICAL Alfred Gray; and Transport and Aviation Minister Glenys Hanna Martin led the chorus of praise for and thanks to Captain Mr. Larry Brown, president of Le Air Charter Services for providing air support services to Mayaguana when Bahamasair, the national airline suspended services to that southern island more than five years ago.

Speaking at a ceremony on Easter Monday to mark the return of regularly scheduled flights to Mayaguana by Bahamasair, Minister Gray led the salute to Mr. Brown by telling those in attendance that Brown, a native of Mayaguana remained committed during the difficult period of the airline tragedy at the airport in April 2013 as Le Air Charter Services Company provided the island with air services. The aviation incident that claimed the lives of three was owned by Le Air.

Mr. Gray said this act by Mr. Brown was deserving of his praise and commendation and he suggested that with the return of Bahamasair, the government will find other services for Mr. Brown’s Le Air Charter Company Limited. Scores of persons in attendance gave Mr. Brown a rousing and well deserved applause.

Prime Minister Christie in saluting Mr. Brown said he wanted to inspire the airline executive to take full advantage of the new economic boom on tap for this southernmost island and to invest in areas such as lodges and other accommodations for guests, anticipated to be drawn to the island when the I Group investment kicks off.
