[Seaborne] Airline no longer accepting cash
December 1, 2017

Seaborne Airlines which services the British Virgin Islands said it will no longer be accepting cash from customers. The airline said they will be going cashless effective today, December 1.

“Visa, MasterCard, Discover, ATH, and company cheques are alternative ways to pay. Please plan accordingly when purchasing a ticket or baggage fee payments. This operational change should speed up your check-in times,” Seaborne said in a media release.

The airline said kiosks that convert your cash to a debit card are available at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The airline said it is also working to install similar kiosks at seaplane bases in the US Virgin Islands. It said the debit cards can be used anywhere debit or credit cards are accepted; not just at the airport.

Seaborne, in the meantime, said it will be implementing ‘further improvements’ to its services. “The reservations team is working on a new procedure that will allow them to take credit card payments to pre-pay for baggage. This will ease issues with customers and bags,” Seaborne explained.

Seaborne services other countries such as Antigua, St Maarten, Dominica, St Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla, the Dominican Republic, among others jurisdictions.
